Lancer Evo X WTB by samvesters Lancer Evo X WTB by samvesters
Hi all

Made this together with :iconatc-design: for the first round of the WTB '11 on Autemo.com. Next round :iconzer0gfx: will be joining our team after some technical problems this round.

About the TeamEngland2 bit, Zero asked me to join there team, and although I'm not from England, nobody seemed to mind. Maybe because Belgium is so close... lol

Faved because of the very unusual lighting. I'm not a fan of chops because they are so redundant and also because they almost always ruin well designed cars with their ridiculous aftermarket add-ons. But I must say this one is different from all I've seen before.

The rendering is fantastic considering how hard it is to realistically render cars in dim lighted environments. As for the concept itself, I think it looks OK apart from the front and rear spoilers that have, in my opinion, crossed the borders of good taste.

Good work.

thanks for the comment :)
I must agree on you on almost everything you say.
But like Danyutz says, it's form follows function in this case. A concept you must know as a fellow designstudent ;)
Glad you like the paint, took a while to get it right!

Yes I'm fully aware of the "form follows function" concept and the only only reason why I said that is because I didn't know this concept was made for track.

I'm kind of frustrated by all the posers who add massive racing add-ons on their cars only to show off on the main street and I thought this car was one of these. My apologies.

No need for apologies. I'm totally with you. A car that hasn't got the HP or never sees a track doesn't need wings or canards.
Most of the cars I make would be used on track in my imagination, I just find it more fun to do. :)

Don't even think this would be roadlegal, with this little clearance and no headlights. :P

I don't think there's any legislation regarding clearance but it's just common sense! Having 2 inches of clearance would mean you would damage your body in every pothole or any minor change in road height or inclination like road construction zones and driveways with a sidewalk. =P

As for the headlights, I'm pretty sure you are right. You would probably get pulled over for having these hahaha!
